Sonia Keshwar

Ms. Keshwar has more than 25 years of experience working with Boards, executive management teams, stakeholders and regulators. Ms. Keshwar joined the Corporation in 2025 as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.

Previously, Ms. Keshwar held leadership roles at the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System and Slate Asset Management. She has also acted as an independent consultant providing governance and regulatory strategy services. Prior, Ms. Keshwar was a regulator with predecessors of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization, holding varied roles on both the trading and dealer regulation sides of the organization, including operational leadership of a new regulatory division.

She is a Governor of The Corporation of Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall, and a member of the Nominations, Governance and Human Resources Committee. Ms. Keshwar completed the Institute of Corporate Directors – Rotman School of Management Directors Education Program as Valedictorian in 2023. Ms. Keshwar holds a degree in Political Science from Queens University, and LLB (common law) and BCL (civil law) degrees from McGill University Faculty of Law.
